Ruling Favors Grandparents Seeking Visitation

Submitted by Audrey Fagans, Feb 1, 2008 14:00

I am originally from Vt and moved over here to care for my sister and her four kids when she became very ill. my husband and I ended up staying here for 5 years. Our son came over here to try to clean up his life. That was not to be the case, he went out and got drunk and met a girl who was very friendly. After he went back to Vt she came to my sister's house and annouced she was pregnant with my son's child. I told her to come back when she had proof of paternity. Well she came back after she had my ganddaughter. I had no doubt about that fact , Julia was the spitting image of my son at that age. My son in the mean time had formed a relationship with another girl and now she was pregnant. She had convinced him that Julia was not his. So he cut off all relations with us. My husband and I on the other hand welcomed Julia into our home. Her Mother left her with us for 75% of the time until she was three, when she met another man " and I use that term loosly" she started having my Julia call her boyfriend "daddy". I kept telling her that the day would come when my son would come around. She decided to take our granddaughter away from us . We went to court and won quite alot of visitation. Julia had a very close relationship with her cousins and aunts and Uncles in VT and NH. Everything was fine, until Julia's mother and her boyfrient moved to another county and started filing unreasonable violations about me. Now this Judge in Warren County has been making us jump through hoops to get our grandparent's visitation back. My son since has gone back to jail in VT. My husband and I only bought a house here to be close to our Julia. There is alot more to this story of course, but if anyone can give me some advice on how to wear down this Judge please let me know.
