Allen Barra perpetuates one of the most serious shortcomings of the present "system" for selecting Hall of Fame inductees: the disproportionate selection of offensive players and the slighting of defensive and special teams players. This entire article mentioned only 1 defensive player, Deron Cherry, and that mention came in the very last paragraph.
