Canton Has Yet To Welcome Some of Football's Best

Mr. Barra is mistaken in his comparison of Bob Griese and John Brodie. Using the adjusted yards per pass (relative to league average) metric, which Mr. Barra himself has argued is the single statistic most highly correlated with winning in pro football, Griese is in the top 20 QBs of all time (close to Dan Fouts and better than Tom Brady), while Brodie is about 80th (in between Brian Sipe and Milt Plum). Brodie was wildly inconsistent; he mixed in some pretty bad seasons with the good ones that Barra indicates. Griese was far more consistently good. Plus, as a previous commenter indicated, Griese was an 8-time pro-bowler; Brodie made it only twice.
