re: today's article "Gosssip Girl Studio Eyed for use by Public Schools," specialized schools may be a great idea, but the bottom line is that we are running out of classroom space in the 5 boroughs. The DOE wedges schools into other schools, crowding classrooms and taking away rooms needed for art, music and science; the city allows mega-developers to practically construct whole neighborhoods without any evidence of reasonable planning for their affects on neighborhood schools. Why isn't anyone taking the long view and BUILDING MORE SCHOOLS? isn't that what some of the CFE lawsuit money was for?
