Dear Ruth:

Often times we fall into the category of those who stoned Steven in Acts 3. Steven frankly forgave those people because they were blind, or in other words, they never allowed their hearts to understand what it was he was involved in - with our Savior Jesus Christ. We often stone others with our words without making the effort to understand why they believe the way they do. Before we start tossing stones, even if we don't want to understand where he is coming from, we can understand the example of his life and his love for his family, his honesty and dedication to God, his desire to bless America and to hold firm his beliefs even though an election is at stake. Can we respect the man for being, doing, and teaching others to love God and to follow the precepts and teachings of Jesus Christ. Sure we may not agree with his theology, but most of us do agree with his life, and his example. If our families were as strong as his we would count ourselves blessed. Let's not reject a man for what is held in the fleshy tables of his heart especially when those ideals are the exact same as our own, the exact same as what Jesus taught.
