Reading Obama's America has assuaged my guilt over taking a much-needed sick day from teaching 8th grade Tech. The article resonates with my evolving modern frame of mind about being first generation Jewish American-- born to survivors of the Holocaust/Shoah and refugees of the Hungarian Revolution, into a tribe of loving yet wary, over-protective Cassandras. I cast my vote for Obama and encouraged my college-aged children to do the same because Obama does serve as a bridge (albeit electrified) between race, religion, age and nationality. My parents are proudly incredulous over our choices, and after my mid-morning nap I will call them in Florida to announce my findings of Jews for Obama blogs. May our sick days be healing & few.
