On February 19, 2008, Syracuse University will dedicate a permanent memorial to the memory of David Ifshin at an event at the Newhouse School of Public Communication. The event is one of several during the year that celebrates the first amendment. Ifshin, an SU alumnus, was student body president in 1970, and led many peaceful protests against the war in Vietnam. He, and the thousands of student activists of that era, will be remembered.
