Comments like the ones posted previously is the main reason why the US has so many enemies around the world. The only friends we have in the world are those that benefit financially from the money we extort from poor countries or because we have state of the art money printing machines that can print more money if we need some. Where do we come off saying that the US should apply a racist, imperialistic idealogy such as the Monroe Doctrine or target a country that is desperately trying to get out of poverty? What we should be doing is helping these places get out of poverty so they do not go somewhere else for assistance , specially our enemies. It's funny how we remember the Monroe Doctrine but we forget that Vietnam and Cuba asked us for assistance before they ever asked the communists and we turned them down because they had nothing to offer us. And I am not talking about assisting them with our leftover food or sending them 19-0 Perfet season t-shirts that the Patriots never used. I am talking about investing in these places. We should forget investing in Saudia Arabia or China on the other side of the world. Get rid of petroleum and start investing in environmental conservation and sustainability. Keep our military strong in case we need it. We worry about Iran in our backyard, but at the same time American and European companies give them hundreds of billions of dollars in oil revenue, ensuring that their opinion has some clout. The best way to get rid of our enemy is by killing them financially. They get that simple concept why can't we?
