Co-Dependency, on the Rocks

I enjoyed the film. But.....being familiar with the Doris Duke story from many books written onthe subject, I did not for one minute forget that this was not the "Doris Duke" of reality.

She was a complex woman who did great good with her money. She also squandered a great deal on money grubbing husbands.

But her relationship with the butler was ridiculous as portrayed in this film. There is much to be examined about that relationship. Many of the other servants thought he deliberately did her in. The film implies as much but that it was planned.

Anyway, the two actors were excellent. The house was beautiful. And if you forgot that this was supposed to be about Doris Duke, the film was well done. But the true story of Doris Duke? No way!
