What To Expect From Maine and Perez in 2008

Submitted by Salomon, Feb 12, 2008 17:11

There's no way to know who'll be better, lets say they both stay healthy and make 32 starts each, here's why i give Perez the edge: A) Experience, he's been around a little more than Maine. B) Stuff, when effective, Perez is almost unhittable 90-91 bitting slider, 93-94 live fastball, and at the end of last season he threw a slow breaking ball kind of often, you'll have to assume that he'll throw it to keep batters off-balance. I know he can be wild at times, and walk everyone also. Meantime Maine's picth is his ridding-live fastball, wich, it was clear at the second half, batters cugth up to it. C)I think Perez showed what he can do if he plays for a winner, postseason 2006 anyone?, i think it was on a 3 days rest. Never the less, i'd love to see them both excell next season, with the adittion of Santana, which is hugh, they'll be able to throw more confortablly, and, can you imagine what they can learn from Pedro and Santana? GO METS.
