I do not believe that Israel suffers from any lack of American support. I have a friend that works at a Fed Ex and he told me that day after day he sees boxes of guns shipped from the US on their way to Israel. I have another friend who is Palestinia,n who as a young teenager narrowly missed being killed by an Israeli soldier's bullets. He was fleeing from the soldier and was not hostile. Thankfully he was only shot in the leg. I mention these stories only to illustrate that it doesn't make sense to expect people to believe you when you say that Israel is great and that it stands for freedom. And as far as David Levine's assertion on this comment board that "Israel bashing is the sole provenance of liberalism today", perhaps American liberals find themselves in opposition to Israel because American conservatives almost unanimously claim Israel as an aid to their opposition of Arab Muslims.
