You have done a good job reporting on this significant management move at the NY Times. I doubt we will see the story in the Daily News, for example. On the other hand, the Times' has been so without any ethical principles in its editorial and reporting practices for the last decade that this is what you would expect. Their enthusiastic undercutting of national security (the foreign-bank-account-tracing revelation comes to mind) and thier unfair coverage of elected officials with whom they disagree has made the Washington Post the 'paper of record' in America anyway.
I read the NY Sun because I think of myself as sensible, not radical. The Times is probably now beneath contempt, but I suppose someone has to follow their machinations. Certainly Chevron can't compare with the Times for industrial greed--at least Chevron delivers an essential product at a competitive price and operates in a competitive environment. I guess liberal democrats have come to depend on it, but for the rest of America, who needs the Times?
