Sides Dig In on 125th Street Rezoning

Submitted by Stanley Gleaton - Eco/Dev Committee CB10, Feb 14, 2008 10:48

I would like to point out that Community Board 10 that repersents the"no" vote of the three boards hchaired by Franc Perry has staked out the firmest opposition and not Vote People as your article stated. In fact this is not even a Harlem organization. Second , cb 10 has held numerous hearings, written pages of testimony and two major documnts " Our Main Street" and a "125th Street Zoning Proposal" which can be veiwed on Manhattan cb 10 website or obtain a copy from the Boards' office. These two documents are comprehensive and was developed by Committee chairs, board members and community residents who attended special and board meetings ove rthe past several months. It should be noted how CB 10 has a definitive oppositional position and these documents will explain the reasons why. I feel that this articls does not get to the heart of this issue. Why? This being that there is no mention of the main players such as CB 10, 125th Street BID, Harlem Community residents, Cultural and Preservation Coalitions and store owners who have also tirelessly worked with the board.
