Obama Adviser Leads Delegation to Damascus

Submitted by David S. Levine, Feb 14, 2008 20:29

While the upset feeling of Eliot Engel about Zbignew Brezezinski is welcome, it is surprising. Typically Congressman Engel holds his tongue when liberals bash Israel. In 1995 when conservatives attempted to zero out Federal appropriations to National Public (actually Palestinian) Radio and PBS, the Palestinian Broadcasting Service Congressman Engel went on C-SPAN during a House vote and decried the "attack on freedom of speech" by Republicans who were leading the fight to defund these two pro-Terrorist entities. Congressman Engel was supported by a coalition of liberal Democ-rats (the only Democrats who were left after the 1994 election) and RINOs (McCain supporters today). Unfortunately his efforts were successful and now NPR and PBS executives know they can get away with anything because they have Engel, Schumer, Ackerman and Lowey on their side.
