Kudos to Ms. Ravitch - once again - she has demonstrated the intestinal fortitude and the chutzpah to challenge the misinformation and, at times, outright lies, it seems, emanating from the Department of Education. I completely support her decision to walk away from an editorial board that seems more "aligned" than independent.
It is frighteningly ironic that in the most vaunted democratic society in the world, and moreso in education - in the largest school system in the country - there is such an absence of checks and balances and independent accountability, all of it offered up, it seems, on the altar of Bloomberg's financial persuasions. Ms. Ravitch, we thank and applaud you for refusing to be swayed by the corrupting influences of the money bag. We are also grateful to you for speaking out at a time when an iron curtain seems to have fallen on voices within public education in New York city.
God bless you, and God bless America.
Amar
