Methodists To Mull Divestment From Israel

It is once again obvious that the Mainline Protestant churches) have lost their way when it comes to the middle east and Israel. It is the Arab side of this conflict that they should be addressing, when they use words like apartheid to discribe a situation like South Africa. The Arabs are the ones who have totally isolated the palestinians, and kept them in squalid camps. And have never alowed them to assimilate into what they call normal society. In countries like Syria Lebanon Iran Libya and Saudia Arabia, just to mention a few it is at the risk of your life to openly carry carry a bible, you also must pay a protection tax to be a Christian or a Jew. In many Muslim countries Christians are being murdered on a regular basis. Sudan is a glaring example. And what about the hundreds of thousands of Jews that were driven out of Arab countries after the rebirth of the state of Israel, nothing is ever said about this travesty committed by these same Muslim countries. They the Arabs have over 2/3rds of the land mass and the wealth of the world yet these same contries continue support terrorist groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, the party of god and fatah. Lastly i would like to point out that in Israel those Palestinians tha choose to live in Israel have all of the freedoms as any Jew, they have full freedom of movement the right to vote and participate in Government and are in the Kenesset. nowhere do you see this in Arab society. However I would point the Methodist church to God's word where the Lord said to Abraham (I will bless those who Bless you and curse those the curse you) We Christians have a special relationship with the nation Israel and with the Jewish people. And the church should remember this.
