I am not sure I follow the remarks on eminent domain. It is long established that government can do eminent domain for public purpose like schools, roads, police stations, fire houses, etc. It is also clear that people get upset about eminent domain to benefit private developers. I think that was the gist of the New Haven case a couple of years ago.

The grey areas are when non profits (such as voluntary hospitals, and private schools)which clearly operate in the public interest require expansion. Is it that you really want to reduce the roll of government or is it that you don't like the liberals up at Columbia University? Substitute Columbia for an agency of which you approve and then see if you come up with the same answer.
