Event Will Highlight Rising High School Dropout Rate

Submitted by al kaye, Feb 19, 2008 11:22

here is the best recommendation- thousands of students from middle schools are not sent to academic high schools, but to commercial and vocational schools instead. do you remember when this was the system? it was a profound mistake to change that system. the change was based on the idea that everyone must be prepared in high school for college. now this was never the education system anywhere at any time in the history of mankind on planet earth. if i am incorrect then you can let me know. there are so many young people in the schools of nyc who are not academically inclined, are on a 3rd or 4th grade level and feel real bad about themselves deep inside. these students attend school sparingly and when they do, they disrupt their classes and prevent others from learning. you know the rest- crime ,gangs, drugs ,alcohol, and pregnancy. hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens in nyc are employed but most of these drop outs are considered not employable. this is not a good system for the future of ny or the usa.
