I have been in love with my 2nd cousin for over 25 years. we both went through the ups and downs of life, even became involved and married to others over the years. but by family ties we always knew each other was there, even though we not always stayed in touch. Now as we approach our "twillight years" (50's and divorced ) we are rediscovering each other and contemplating "coming out of the closet" to our family. We kind of feel already that the relationship will be looked down upon, but in a way, we tend to care less then we did when we were younger. the only persons opinion that concerns me is of my aunt, which is her grandmother, the others can deal with it or go get a life!! our happiness is paramount. the only hang ups are that we live in different cities, of which we have carreer jobs that we must rely upon for retirement reasons and the fact that she has children and I do not. There was a scare about 20 years ago that the child she was expecting with her then husband might be mine (yes, we were creeping around!)but according to her , i had to be content with the beutiful young lady to be my 3rd cousin. My daugter, which would have been about the same age, had she survived would have somewhat delievered me from this dilema. I do not know how I feel about finishing my life childless (you know, carring on my name, be fruitful and multiply, all that male stuff), because her child bearing years are over.We have both left it in God's hands and time will tell, but for the time being, we see each other almost every weekend and the sex and companionship is astronomical.
