Great article! My compliments to the reviewer.She very ably, identifies the problem with these types of "research " based inquiries. It is easy to skewer theories from even the most rigorous analysis of empirical data. One needs supporting research on all areas of the issue.. as the reviewer asks, where are the studies of 'the motivations" of the Senator Clinton, Secretary Rice and other women who chose that path? As for the need based choices of women in places like the Phillipines ,Poland and Russian.. I wonder if the responsibilities of taking care of their family issues were better dealt with by extended family support or state sponsored childcare services??
