Preaching another gospel was to be the hallmark of the falling away of the apostate church, just before Christ's return. The UMC has firmly placed itself in the humanist camp, preaching a social gospel and standing against God's chosen people in their longstanding battle with an eternal enemy which ever devising new plans for their extermination.

Understanding God's Kingdom and how He is working this into fruition through history is a long, but glorious study. The short story is that God has chosen Israel to be the billboard or demonstration project of His Grace and Sovereignty, that is to say, His love for mankind as well as His right to rule and to judge throughout the entirety of His creation, including this earth. The Bible is the story of God's plan of reclaiming His authority over the earth, which He had delegated to Adam, who in turn forfeited it to Satan through his unrepentant disobedience to God. He has promised Israel land, seed and blessing in an irrevocable, unilateral, blood covenant with Abraham.

Satan's goal is to assemble a kingdom of those who worship him and to dethrone God.
