Akwesasne is a community of many decent families, a strong and rising educational level, rich traditional culture and long history. Like anyplace, it has a criminal element as well as many people who carry on businesses in the often contradictory legal world of reservation jurisdictions and border economies. The racist and inflammatory approach by the New York Post deserves intense scrutiny and response. Kudos to the Mohawk leadership for their lawsuit. Its about time.
