'Obambi' Is Working It

Mr. McWhorter makes a compelling case against the accusations that Senator Obama is all fluff and no substance. But he is largely missing the point. For all of Candidate Obama's lofty rhetoric about change, hope, and a birghter future, the few places in which his "concrete" plans are apparent (and yes, I've been to his website) make it clear that his ideas are anything but new, in fact they're liberal Democratic Party orthodoxy.

This reader does find such a disparity between Obama's rhetoric and his stated policy plans to be cynical, because his mouth is writing checks that his brain refuses to cash.
