Residential Rental Buyers Adapt to Today's Market

Submitted by Mary Ann from the Bronx, Feb 25, 2008 10:22

I would like to know what is going to happen to those of us who are single and are living in New York City (who must live within the City limits due to our jobs and are only making $ 20,000 after taxes) and we are being forced out. What do you do when you cannot afford these rents.

Why are you not building affordable housing at a rate of about $600 to $ 700 a month for a 1 bedroom apartment?

Why are you only building coops and condos with a price of over a million dollars? Where are we to get this kind of money? Do you not want us in the City? What do you builders; landlords and developers have against us?

Tell me what are we to do?
