Javits Expansion May Decamp to Queens

Submitted by Rich Demeter, Feb 26, 2008 13:40

400k net square feet is a non starter. The Javits at 800k is woefully inadequate. What does a facility half that size bring to the table ? None of the larger shows already in NY will be able to utilize the space in Queens because it will not be big enough to accomodate them.

If NY wants the jobs and the money they need to bite the bullet and build a REAL convention Ceneter that can compete with the cities that currently draw the shows. Anything short of that is too little too late.
