McCain Hints Minn. Governor May Be His Running Mate
in response to reader comment: Considering John McCain running mate

Submitted by Bill Keys, Feb 27, 2008 14:28

In my opinion Sen. McCain has not completely gained the support of the conservatives and many have said that he is not a conservative, but more of a liberal. Therefore, in order to gain the support of the conservative voters, to include those that are considering voting for Clinton or Obama, or not voting at all I would recommend that he choose Duncan Hunter as his running mate.

It is true that Rep. Hunter did not do well in the primary due to limited funds and being an unknown, but as a VEEP candidate more voters would become familiar with him and realize he should have gotten the Republican nomination for President.

The only downfall would be that anything beneficial that Hunter does while VP will be credited to McCain as President, and that could benefit McCain if the 2 run for the office of POTUS in 2012.
