A Kindergartener Takes the (Gifted) Test
in response to reader comment: Every child is gifted

I am also in Queens and we have decided not to have our daughter take the test. She is in pre-K and just turned 5 in January. I keep second guessing this decision though, especially since the moms of her classmates keep asking why she didn't take it.. Like you, I love the diversity of the school she is in now, and I would be loathe to bus her somewhere else - but I wonder if it is wrong not to give her every opportunity. I'd be interested in hearing the results of your daughter's test. Thanks.
