The Obama Cult: Not for Everyone

Submitted by rosetry, Feb 27, 2008 20:47

When we landed in San Francisco during my post-college grad cross country journey, which began in NJ during the summer of 1980, my friend & I were invited to dine with a welcoming warm & friendly group of young people. We had little money and a lot of hunger for food as well as for adventure. We joined our new "friends" for dinner-- which we later realized was laced with a narcotic-- and an inauguration into their cult. We woke from our stupor the next morning, and even though we were impressionable 21 year olds we were able to discern between certain hopeful promises of communal utopia from a 'MagicMan', and the reality of controlling our own lives. Relax for a moment-- enjoy the ride before we say "Yes We Did" and succeed in making the world a more peaceful, healthy and intelligent planet-- as you do in the throwback 'Catskills'
