In Cleveland, Obama Speaks on Jewish Issues

You've got to get your facts clarified. The Muslim Brotherhood is NOT peaceful nor supportive of democracy and that has nothing to do with being secular or religious. They have blown up things and there's a reason Egypt is under a military state - to keep them at bay. In Indonesia there have been terrorist bombings both on local targets but also on tourists, responsiblity taken by local organizations. Of course India isn't filled with terrorists and is largely Hindu, but Pakistan has it's fair share of religious extremists who vow to make you and I Muslim. Any doubt about this, my friend visited recently for her job and was asked, cornered, in one Midrass about becoming Muslim and asked to renounce her Catholism. You do need to read a newspaper once in a while please.

As to who our enemy is - there are a sizeable proportion of Muslims in this country who believe in the goal of making this into a Muslim country, Muslim run, and under Muslim laws. I learned this, much to my surprise at interfaith events, from the Muslim's sponsoring the events. Even in this country, we'd better start reaching out to these folks. We need them to learn what democracy is really about. We need to work the ones who get it and help them direct their communities as well.

50 million does sound like a much better estimate than 50 thousand. I do hope though that people will keep in mind that the Muslim population is diverse as well as large, some are secular, others moderately religious, some Arab, other's completely different ethnic origins, and with various political views.
