Nation Building in Kosovo

Submitted by Kosovar, Feb 28, 2008 10:14

Mr. Johnson, for the most part, has done a very good in this article by mentioning the historical facts that debunk the mythical claims of Serbia that Kosovo was/is a cradle of its nation. As a side note: the cradle of Serbia is Raska -- a region outside Kosovo.

What I am worried about is how some journalists are considering Kosovo as a potential islamic state. That couldn't be further from the truth.

Those people that call themselves Wahabbis are just a handful of delusionist, very despised by Kosovars.

As for the links of Kosovo to the London or Madrid bombing, this is the first time I'm reading about it in a respectful media. Those are claims from the Serbian propaganda, and we all know how that works.

The matter of fact is that Kosovo is a very secular society. We are extremely grateful to the US, UK and the rest of Europe, for saving us from extermination.

Article 8 of our future constitution, named Secular State, says: "The Republic of Kosovo is a secular state and is neutral in matters of religious beliefs." (http://www.kushtetutakosoves.info/repository/docs/DraftConstitutionEnglish.pdf)

We have built the Jefferson wall and we will keep it high, and as a result serve as an example of how a secular society can function in today's world.
