This insistence of western journalists that Serbian politics in 2008 is shaped by events of 1389 never ceases to amaze me. Though there are certainly some Serbs that care about mythology, a vast majority doesn't know or doesn't care about any of it. They are nevertheless very much upset by the fact that a part of their country is been taken away by big powers on a pretext of a right to self-determination while the same right has been denied to Serbs in Kosovo and Bosnia.
So, if you are unfamiliar with the politics of the region, at least you can stop spreading falsities about the subject.
