Clinton Fans Form 527 To Tackle Gender, Race

Submitted by Jan in CT, Feb 28, 2008 14:31

I congratulate the founders of the newly formed 527 Americans For Progress in their efforts to even the gender and race bar that has most certainly become lopsided in the ongoing presidential race. With recent reports of some black members of Congress and others having been pressured to switch over to Obama and the outright negative portrayal of Clinton by the major News networks as having multiple personalities and mood swings, it is about time somebody stepped in and called a time out. The feeding frenzy of the "best political analysts and correspondents" in TV News and other News Media shows no sign of stopping as witnessed by millions of viewers during the debate when Clinton was badgered during a question about Putin and earlier when her "sky is parting" segment accidentally appeared in error only to then be discussed. The fact that MSNBC, for one, relentlessly ran three Clinton segments the next day in which they called her nice, angry and sarcastic and ran them with a regularity that even the most important news is not accorded is proof given that our News Media has reached a low ebb and failed in the job it was meant to do. I hope that the 527 Americans For Progress organization will get things back on track holding the media accountable and allow Clinton the respect and recognition due a citizen running for the highest office in the land.
