Gun Control Isn't Crime Control
in response to reader comment: Stossel, An itelligent argument for gun control?

David Abramson -- you are the wrong person to talk about stats. Your comments about "more likely to kill a loved one" smack of the soundly discredited Kellerman "study". I suggest that you read John Lott's "More Guns, Less Crime" or the Kleck study (showing that handguns are used by ordinary Joes/Janes to stop crimes more that 3 MILLION times per year) to find out what real statistical research is all about. The fact that these latter self defense uses happen with virtually no "collateral damage" put the lie to your fevered misgivings, to wit "Put a gun into the hands of someone who is obsessed with "self defense" -- and you are likely putting it into the hands of an individual who is itching to have a reason to pull the trigger at some one. And, if a bad guy ain't handy…". That's not what happens, pal. Go to keepandbeararms.com for a running list of published self-defense by ordinary people.
