Israel, Hamas Standoff May Be Imminent, Officials Say
in response to reader comment: Israel, Hamas standoff

Submitted by Dave Levy, Feb 29, 2008 16:09

Pundits claim that a large Israeli incursion into the Gaza Strip, will result in many moe casualties than allowing rockets (Kassams) to fall (mainly harmless) into the Israel city of Sderot and surrounding areas. With the firing of Katyushas (Grad rockets), this argument, like all other peace now (war later) Israeli excuses for not ending this curse of Hamas, has fallen by the wayside. We are now seeing an entire city (Ashkelon) under seige. Hamas says soon all of Israel will be able to be struck. I for one believe everything they say. Condi is playing it both ways..to appease the Palis and our Saudi oil producers, while giving Israel some degree of flexibility. We also sell the Arab world modern planes..paid for in cash earned, of course by Arab oil sales. So what should Israel do: well, if the Strip is an enemy entity, then make it so. Let Egypt have the responsibility of providing it with fuel and supplies totally. Israel cannot have it both ways. Also, rather than sending in 100 tanks, and thousands of troops (a la Turkey in Iraq), just carpet bomb Palis cities, starting in the north. Let them suffer what Sderot and Ashkelon are feeling..this is war, not a backyard tussle. During WW2, the Allies bombed Germany and Japan and dropped 2 bombs..ending that conflict..only after 70m were killed and hundreds of millions wounded and displaced. Finally, we woke up to what the Germans had in mind..."A New World Order"., meaning the enslavement or murder of everyone not to their liking. The Arabs want the same thing. a world rid of Jews and Israel...and Infidels (Judenrein).
