Obama Open to Private School Vouchers

Submitted by Val Castellon, Mar 1, 2008 10:38

Obama's "intriguing response" to vouchers is typical of Obama's take on how to impress voucher supporters and hoping not to alienate Democratic party stern objection to it. First, vouchers system has been proven in the past that it will not work in poor areas. If anything it will deprive the very poor working the voucher system. Areas with no private school infrastructure and long distance will make it very hard to attend school, plus, private school parents play an active role in raising funds for the school. It takes a very active parent to meet the requirements for private school, I know, I sent my childern to private school. The major problem I had is the cost, and I had no help. Also private schools will pop up everyhwere, and the bottom line the school is profits. If parents do not help in public, it is a sure thing they will not help private schools. What about, certifications, qualified teachers, they will demand fair pay. Private schools are notorious in paying their teachers below public schools. Today, at this moment, privates schools work because of dedicated school teachers, vouchers will distroy that. Then, we will end up with a worse school system. Obama's intriguing response is what it is, naive and if anything to pander for votes.
