"Leaving aside the half-baked geopolitco-cranko-economic analysis that "informs" Mr. Kunstler's vision of a Peak Oil Ragnarok..." Said like someone who has not truely done their homework on this topic. Peak-oil is not a half baked idea, and is something we will face in the next decade. Even the CEO's of Conoco Phillips and Total have admitted as much in the last months. When 95% of our transportation energy is oil-based, it is a big big problem. The author here should read more on this topic.
