Gaza: Now Is the Time

Yes, it's way past time Israel acted in its own defense. Imagine if a paramilitary organization fired missles from Mexico into El Paso. Would the United States sit back and try to negotiate with the government of Mexico? Not for long anyway. Would the U.S. accept the Mexican government saying "Oh, those militants aren't ours, though they do represent our frustrations. We are doing everything we can to stop them, of course, however..." Would the U.S. look for ways to deprive the militants' area of electricity, as Israel has done by recently turning down the power to the Gaza strip by a measly 1%? No, I think we all know what the response would be. Israel must act decisely, absolutely, and without any restraint. This is all the Arab mind understands. Anything less will only encourage Hamas to step up their attacks, and to achieve victory by inches, or by time. And, as I said in a previous letter, there are no innocents in a land where even the toddlers are raised on anti-Israel propoganda.
