isn't it remarkable that people who want to offer more good educational choices for more families are described as being opposed to 'the greater good' while folks who support a mediocre and change-resistant government monopoly think they're wonderful creatures who only want what's best for children? as finn himself observes, competition doesn't guarantee better quality education...but far from 'dismantling' public education, the fondest hopes of educators like myself is that the spur of competition will measurably improve public education... this is not a difficult concept to grasp even if one is - like me - a graduate of the public schools
