Why does our government continue on this path of "doing what is best for us"? If the advertising mail were not financially viable, marketing companies would not continue to spend their dollars on this product. Consumers would not respond to this mail and advertising mail would go away. The mere fact that advertising mail exists is proof of the value of this product. Obviously consumers respond and make purchasing decisions based in part on some of the marketing information received via "Junk Mail". Our government should let our markets decide what works and what does not. Those products of no value are eliminated by market demand without any input from our government. We, as consumers and citizens, can and do make these decision for ourselves without any interference from those who know what is best for us.
