City's Parking Permits Problem Worse Than Thought

Submitted by Manhattan Downtowner, Mar 9, 2008 00:47

Just an FYI - Community Boards 2 and 3 in Downtown Manhattan, by unanimous voting, have both requested the posting of permanent No Permit Parking signs from the D.O.T. Additionally, Community Board 1, which covers Battery Park City and South Street Seaport and Wall Street, is currently planning to make the same request of the D.O.T. for permanent No Permit Parking signs. No Permit Parking signs would aid greatly in enforcement of parking permit regulations. These signs have effectively reduced permit abuse on Chinatown's Mott Street by 90% for the last 8 months.
