The issue should be MPG, not Hybrid vs. gas-powered....lots of gas-powered cars get similar or better MPG than hybrids. Furthermore, the govt. has finally revamped MPG figures so that they reflect real world performance. So we should give privileges, if any, to the cars that use the least gas per mile regardless of how they accomplish that.
