Today I walked into St. Barbara's Church- for the second time in my life. Interesting for me because my great grandfather was Leonhard Eppig - beer brewer - who gave enough money to build the Church so that it was named after his wife (or was it the daughter?) My mother used to talk about Aunt Barb. A magnificent Church - and well attended again. I also visited St. Leonard's Scalabrini apartments - the site of St. Leonard's Church - another mighty church, but now replaced by housing.
