in response to reader comment: SPEAKING FRANKLY ABOUT AMERICAN IMPERIALISM

Submitted by Paul McCord, Mar 10, 2008 10:30

So, the burden of the intelligentsia is to show the poor masses the errors of their ways and to enlighten them on their moral turpitude. You are kidding, right? And though you claim modesty and beg forgiveness for coming across as arrogant, you obviously include yourself in the intelligentsia. That's the epitome of arrogance.

Gee, what a burden you carry, you poor dear. But it appears you don't carry it well. Germany has been far more honest about their history? How so? Europe in is in the midst of another rousing good round of anti-Semitism—with Germany right up there with them, this time supported by the intelligentsia's justification. How is that being honest about one's history? That's simply saying, "please don't punish us any further. Gosh, that was fun, though. Let's do it again." Looks like it's time to begin designing the next Holocaust Museum for the upcoming round—led by the intelligentsia, of course.

Maybe you and Noam can have a beer together soon. At least that would keep you from screwing things up for a little while.
