Spitzer Set To Step Down Today
in response to reader comment: OUR PUBLIC FIGURES

Submitted by Jack, Mar 14, 2008 12:19

Michelle makes VERY valid points. It is the federal act itsself that is Spitzers doing AND downfall... and why should we pay for his "services" and leisurely activities... We pay for it along the lines in his salary and the vacation the houses/congress receive, but it should not come out of our pockets for his "personal enjoyment".

But, don't confuse the issues, stay focused. Millions live paycheck to paycheck, unemployment to unemployment check, or subsidy to subsidy. Learn a trade, earn a living, make the best of it... want more? eduacate yourself and get into a profession. this is not a caste society. As a country we have to fight wars (politically or militarily?), give huminatarian aid (physical or financial?). Sure education costs - but spend something FOR something. - If I all of a sudden EARN a lot of money this year, I should have to help bring others to my level and share the wealth??? that is communism in its true form... but do give charity and help those in need. If you can't do it financially, the what about personally? When is the last time "we" helped others out in kindness? Are we too selfish as a society...??? ANYWAY - This is another conversation...

PS look at China, there was recently an official guilty of the same or similar acts, therefor in this instance, NO, NOT ONLY IN AMERICA, but our freedom, YES ONLY IN AMERICA. (Our tongues may have already been cut out of our mouths in the middle east... wait, this is the technologically advanced age and modern society... our fingers would have been cut off for typing!). Freedom.

YES, ONLY IN AMERICA!!!
