This article give me at least some hope. After reading the coverage around this story, I felt a brief panic. My initial thoughts were that the 'sugar-coating' is going too far. While the comments made are shocking and harsh lets not pretend that shocking and harsh comments are not made in this country about a variety of topics. Pointing out the Rabbi in Brooklyn is a perfect example. In the company of those you share similar experiences, trials and tribulations, it is human nature to be passionate and vent emotion. Passionate remarks tend to be shocking. I also commend Sen. Obama for becoming an inspiration and carrying a message of hope and change for those in this country who have dreamed of it.
We are not puppets. Everyday we all hear something that isn't P.C. or acceptable in all company. The words around us do not become our words if we have our own mind. Sen. Obama has well proven his ability to make his own choices.
