Obama's Moment

Submitted by h brando, Mar 18, 2008 10:00

Barack Obama should have dissassociated himself from Reverend Wright's parish.

I'm one who resigned from my church becauseof their almost unanimous opposition to the Iraq War. I tried not to. I tried to talk myself into the idea that I have to acknowledge the views of others by endorsing them with my presence.

No. What I have to do firt is self-examine and affirm my own prioritis in values.

I couldn't by remaining amember of my church be doing anything but endorsing their anti-liberation/war

point of view. To remain a member, I'd have to continually "shoot mymouth off" in dissent

The Senator HAD to be aware ofWright;s positions. Even if he were not in attendance, the copies of sermons are on tables in every Church for moths at a time.

There must be ACTIVISTS on it behalf if freedom is to win out over tyranny.

I WORK AT BEING AN ACTIVIST. SOMETIMES I SUCCEED. BUTI ALWAYS AM VOLUBLY ON THE SIDE OF AMERICA'S DREAM.

Senator Obama hasn't at all covinced me that he feels about America the way I want an American President to feel. And the cool feelings expressed by his Harvard graduate wife simply make them a very unattractive couple to occupy the White House insofar as I'm concerned..

Of course, he's also 97% plus rated by the Americans for Democratic Action - Clinton only reting a 95% rathing by thesame group) Very unpalatable to me.

I'd love to have a black person- like Condaleeza Rice or another qualified black person win the Presidential race. But not Barack Obama\
