Obama's Moment

I think the Sun is giving Obama too much benefit of the doubt. I don't think Obama is as radical as reverend Wright but there are two possible explanations for his close relationship to him. 1) he did it to further his political career, since this is the largest black church in Chicago and helped Obama rise as an African American leader. There is nothing wrong with this, but it means Obama is just another opportunistic politician. So much for "hope" and "change." Those of us on the right (not the christian conservative one) find this amusing because he was supposed to be above politics as usual...I almost bought it!

The second explanation is that Obama shares, at least partially, Wright's views. In this context, Michelle's words that she has never been proud of her country make perfect sense. Although I find it ironic that two harvard educated lawyers that make half a million a year, can think they can "feel the pain" of the poor and underprivileged black. If this is a racist country, how come Obama is about to be elected president (democratic nomination pretty much in his pocket and he polls better against McCain).

The only other explanation is that he never took Wright seriously...he's an old uncle he claims. This is disingenious and shows a complete lack of judgment. Pick your explanation. Either way, Obama has been exposed as another phony.
