N.Y. Gun Laws in Balance as High Court Weighs D.C. Case

As for why it has taken so long. Because the courts have been dodging the issue for years. Libs do not want to concede gun rights, yet know their arguments wont stand up. And the system is rigged so that to take it to court you must have "standing" The court has interpreted that as, you must have been convicted of violating the law. But we do not want a case that requires us to be represented by a criminal.. Then there are poor 'innocent' people who are trapped in the system and just want to excape with as little loss as possible. They do not want to spend years and a fortune defending a principle. Note that there were 6 who started this process and only one is found to still have 'Standing". to continue.

Then there is the makeup of the court. Past courts would have gone against gun owners no matter what the arguments presented. This is the most unbaised court we have had in a generation. It will still be close, but If the democrats win in Nov we will not see a balanced court again in our lifetimes.
