Ruling Favors Grandparents Seeking Visitation
in response to reader comment: Not consistent with Troxel

Iam writing this because my family is currently involved in family court to be granted visitation rights to see my brother's children since his death last year. My brother had a bitter divorce several years ago and his ex-wife has since been very difficult when my brother was alive and now since my brother's death. We are grieving my brother's death and just want the kids back in our life. Unfortunately their mother has brainwashed the children in saying they hate my family which is completely unjustified and we always had a good relationship with the children and tried to be as involved as much as we could under the circumstances since she made it very difficult for my brother when he was alive. My parents just want visitation not custody as we believe it is in the best interest of the children to see their late father's family and restore our relationship with their other grandparents, aunt&uncle and cousins who miss them and want to grieve with them. We want to be close with the children they are part of my brother and we want to go on with our lives and be happy again. I am so disheartened that it had to come to this and pray that the court rules in our favor since we have been subjected to enough pain and suffering and so have the children.
