Ready for Obama ...

Submitted by Dorothy Wachsstock, Mar 19, 2008 11:11

Obama is an opportunist. He landed in Chicago and took up with the most powerful man in the Black community. He allowed himself to be married, children baptized there and these videos that we see on television and youtube are sold in the gift store for all to be propagandized. His children and their friends have listened to this propaganda for years. Does that not explain the comments of Michelle Obama who thought nothing of saying this is a "mean" country. Is that the kind of First Lady we want to represent our country?

He is no different than Hillary Clinton who forgave her husband's shennagans so she could hug and kiss him until she was elected and then he is off to play around again. Their actor friends taught them well.

You, who thought this speech was so great, did it help that he threw his grandmother under the bus, when Jessie Jackson said the same thing, in order to make excuses for not ending his relationship with this hateful Rev. Wright?

We would all like to see a woman or a Black person elected as President but the right one for this country of many ethnics. Not only for black people.

That is what Obama's speech did to many of us white folks when we heard him. How is a speech judged wonderful by so called experts if it brings out Blacks on the radio and television telling whites who were not even born, that we are responsible for their oppression.

What is different in today's America that different ethnic groups come to this country and create a neighborhood and stores and a community without asking for the government to bus their children, to complain of discrimination, (and there is plenty) and ask for more money from the government for special programs? It is not racism holding Blacks back because they get more benefits than newcomers to this country.

I and many white folks were naieve enough to believe that we were one country, even with affirmative action that made us consider if we wanted to have a surgeon of color because of it. We are now listening to the hatred of Black callers and are sad. There are so many rich Black influential people in this country, yet where does this hatred of whites come from? Why does the media only focus on poor black people in Urban cities.? There are more poor white folks in this country than blacks.

Not all white people are wealthy but get no money or assistance because they are white. Let us be honest about that if we are going to discuss race. There was no hatred or racism on our side but if this continues, there may come a day when there will be.

A reporter said, on the radio, that Obama's schedule had a speech about race scheduled to be given in March. This was his opportunity. It may be a good speech for those that like him but it was not a speech about race. Just about changing the subject from his bad judgement in his friendship with another Farrakhan. He made excuses but did not condemn him but did condemn his poor grandmother.
